What's In a Name?

SummaCode is a group of expert engineers and leaders from the service provider community, including experts from Metaswitch, Microsoft, and engineers from some of the largest Metaswitch customers across the US. We help other service providers support, transform, and grow your networks.

Our name comes from the old Latin term Summa (Soo·Muh) which means 'the highest,' and has been popularized by top academic honors of Summa Cum Laude. The term encapsulates the highest standards and comprehensive expertise, which is what we strive to provide. 

Code is used in both the context of technology and as a guiding set of processes and ethical principles that guide behavior.

1️⃣ The first aspect of our name is our heritage in the technology industry, with leadership coming from companies like Microsoft, Metaswitch, and some of the most successful service providers in the US.

2️⃣ The second aspect of our name is our code of ethics. Nothing is more important to us than exhibiting the highest standards of excellence and integrity. We may not be perfect, but we strive to be as close to it as possible, and if we do not hit the mark we strive to quickly make it right.

To us, these principles can be summarized in the ultimate "SummaCode," known as the Golden Rule: "do unto to others as you would want done unto you."
